Celebrating the 76th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day at the Embassy of Pakistan, Vienna
The Embassy of Pakistan hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony to celebrate the 76th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day. Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister and hoisted the national flag.
Ambassador Khokher paid tribute to the struggle of Pakistan’s founding fathers. He recalled the nation’s commitment to realizing the vision of Quaid-e-Azam in building Pakistan as a progressive and forward-looking Islamic country. He highlighted Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in South Asia in addition to upholding the principles of democracy, freedom, equality, tolerance, socio-economic justice, and espousing values enunciated by Islam. He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) who are continuing their struggle for their right of self-determination.
Prominent community members and representatives of the diaspora in Austria and Slovakia also participated in the celebrations. They reiterated their commitment to redouble efforts for the continued security, prosperity, and development of the country.
The event concluded with prayers for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
